Directly input and edit text content in TextItem like QTextEdit

I want to directly input and edit text content in TextItem like QTextEdit . Can you modify the TextItem ?

This feature will greatly increase the usability of the report like FastReport .

Hi! Honestly, I don't see a big difference between direct input and popup window :) And moreover, as the text in TextItem can contain a script, data fields, or variables it's more convenient to use a special tool for filling TextItem content. Could you explain to me how it could increase usability?
