Disk Erase Fails Tries to Format MacOS Extended Instead of APFS

I am following the README file and trying to get this thing to work. I was able to do so once (installed and successfully booted Mojave). However, I then deleted the Qemu disk.

Since then I have been unable to install another OS because I am unable to format the disk. I select the disk that says "uncategorized" in its description. The size seems correct as well. I am choosing APFS and GUID Mapping.

What happens after that is illustrated by the screenshots below. Any idea on how to get past this is appreciated.

P.S. I have tried wiping and re-downloading the entire macOS-Simple-KVM directory to no avail.
