checkra1n has an I/O issue and its operations are timing out. Try using RAM mode (second option on the boot menu) and unplug the flash flash drive once in checkra1n, keeping only the phone. See if that improves the issue.

that is what I did because I only have one USB port and it worked flawlessly.

I'm getting the same error I get on ubuntu, it doesn't change a thing for me and I used on two computers so far. I have tried every USB-A port on each computer, always get to the 122 second time out finally appearing on the screen.

I was facing this issue on iPhone 5s and still facing it, but on my iPhone 6s and 7 Plus I'm getting either -77 or -78. Perhaps in future update of checkra1n for linux these issues will be resolved. I got 4 usb ports on my hp laptop and 3 on dell, tried all but nothing seems to be working.

if your not already, try upgrading to iOS 13.3, as it fixed my issues on my friends iPhone SE

This can (most likely) be solved by removing the password and Touch ID. So "everybody" can enter your iPhone... This way, the Checkra1n Loader can be sideloaded, so you can install Cydia and start tweaking. I also had the problem of getting -77 errors, but when I removed my password and Touch ID to unlock the phone, it worked first try using Bootra1n.

When I finally upgraded to 12.4.4 on my 5S, the backup was corrupt so I set it up as a new phone without any passcode or touch ID. Maybe I'll set them all and disable them and try again. I have done many iterations of cables, ports, and computers by now.

in my experience so far, only A7 devices are facing this issue. Last night I was trying iPad mini 2 and faced the same issue.

Device: IPad Mini 2 IOS: 12.5.1 I had the same issue. I tried to change USB-port and tried to use another jb methods but it didn't help me. Then i tried to create new boot flash drive, it was cleared flash and i used rufus for it. I used GPT partition table and i booted UEFI from BIOS with CMS. I used only USB 2.0 for device and flash drive. Then i tried to boot from RAM and i unplugged my flash drive. When i started jb process i unplugged my device after i had gotten "Right before trigger", so then i plugged it and it jailbroked succesfully. Thanks everyone for your help.

So i need to add that i wait about 15-20 secs after i saw "Right before trigger" then i unplugged it and after 2-3 secs plugged it again. I had an USB issue when i tried to do it w/o i hadn't pressed "trusted" on my device. Anyway you need press "trusted" before starting this process and then do unplug/plug on step "Right before trigger". I think that issue can be on this step if you try to unplug it too early, you need to do it after 15-20 secs. After some tries i can say that this problem don't caused by booting mode (RAM or other). I tried do jb with USB Safe mode and it worked. I also had turned on internet before i tried to jb my device because i can't do it with airplane mode.
