Dictionary support / dictionary mode / thesaurus

Similar to the unicode table feature request I made, I usually end up using websites for such functionality, but this going back and forth between the editor and random websites costs me time, and can get annoying. On top of that the internet could theoretically not work sometimes. I know we are used to it working, but you never know.

You could add dictionary support at the same time you add spell checker support, because spell checkers usually come with an installation of a dictionary.

What I imagine dictionary support to look like is this: :dict cloth

Showing a special mode or popup with all the words in the dictionary that contain cloth as part of the word. Then you should be able to select the word that fits with the usual vim keys.

A thesaurus would also be nice for finding alternative words: :thesaurus big Should show words like huge, giant.

When no word is given, those special language features should just use the current word under the cursor. And when a word is selected with :dict or :thesaurus it should replace the current word under the cursor.

Also a great feature would be translation from German to English or from English to German, or in your case Japanese to English or English to Japanese.

This would tell the dictionary to automatically search for translations from English words to German words: :translate en de

When using the dict feature over an English word in that case: :dict

It would show all the known translations to German.

To remove this setting, you could use: :translate off
