The syntax highlighting for Markdown might be enhanced with the following features:

  • [ ] support for bold formatting
  • [ ] support for italic formatting
  • [ ] support for code formatting by indentation (4 spaces)
  • [ ] support for LaTeX maths environments
  • [ ] support for LaTeX macros
