removeAfterRoll for DamageDice rule element, too

Open intrand opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

FlatModifier supports a nice field called removeAfterRoll. Often times, the rolling of damage marks the end of an action. Not always, but often. Instead of the effect expiring after the attack roll (what the flatmodifier is being used for in my case), I think allowing the effect to expire on a damage roll (DamageDice RE) would let the system be very flexible and still remain pretty simple to wield. Would someone be able to give an estimation of the level of effort for a feature like this?

Thanks for reading and considering. Keep up the good work :)

Adding a +1 to this with a minor expansion to IWR.

Now that IWR is handled core in system, there are a lot of instances where "resistance to the triggering damage" would be useful. A removeAfterRoll (or maybe removeAfterDamageApply?) when applied to the IWR fields would be an obvious upgrade to something like "Effect: Champion's Resistance" which will apply to one damage roll and them immediately be removed.

It would be great to have this implement to support effects that work like Power Attack, requiring the use of DamageDice but after the attack the effect is gone.

Perhaps it could even be used for some Panache finishers.
