Vulnerabilities / Damage Modification & Physical Bypasses Interaction

Open EndlesNights opened this issue 10 months ago • 1 comments

If you include a positive Damage Modification to an actor, along with a Physical Bypasses option.

In this image example you can see two weapon damage rolls:

  • the actor has a +10 slashing Damage Modification and a Magical Physical bypass
  • the first weapon does not have the magical weapon property, and thus does not "Bypass" the extra damage, so the attack deals an extra 10 damage
  • the second weapon does have the magical weapon property, and thus does bypass and ignore the extra damage.

Damage calculation from vulnerabilities works in a similar manner. (see second image)

I am unsure of what the intended interaction is with between how damage vulnerabilities and positive Damage Modification are suppose to interact with Physical Bypass. This just feels a little odd and wonk. My initial instinct feels as though when the Bypass option is selected in this fashion, it should only be dealing the additional damage if the weapon has the property, rather than how it is currently implemented.
