Unread messages count get stuck after a while
I'm happily using FireTray for a while now, but with Thunderbird 24.6.0 on Linux Mint 17 now after a while the number of new/unread messages stay on a number (usually 1) even if I've read all the emails. From that moment the notification number does not work anymore, I have to restart TB.
Hi, do you get errors in the console when enabling logging ?

Hi, it took a while to replicate the issue (you know when you are looking for it, it won't happen!). I restarted TB with the debug on for FireTray.
The only logs I get in console are these, when starting:
12:02:12 INFO firetray.Handler OS=Linux, ABI=x86_64-gcc3, XULrunner=24.6.0 12:02:12 INFO firetray.Handler inMailApp=true, inBrowserApp=false, appHasChat=true 12:02:12 INFO firetray.Handler isChatProvided=true 12:02:12 INFO firetray.Handler restoredWindowsCount=1 12:02:12 INFO firetray.Handler *** appStarted ***
Then nothing. After a while (in the meantime, I've put my notebook into sleep mode and resumed, but it happened also during daytime without going into sleep) the icon stopped on '1' but with no unread emails. If I right-click on it and choose "reset icon", nothing happens.
Thanks for your support,
Ivan Andrian
Mmh, the logs looks normal. When the icon freezes on "1", does TB display a little glow on the icons of folders with new messages, or pops up some notification window ? Maybe the problem relies in TB itself, or your specific configuration ? Have you also tried with a different profile ?

I'm not using notification windows in TB (I was using FireTray as a notification indicator, don't like the many popups that come up). When the icon is frozen on "1", if I get a new email, the folder name is in bold with the unread count on the right, like Inbox (1). The folder icon looks normal to me, no glow.

could be, but it used to work for ages!

No. I'm not so happy with configuring TB again with a different profile...
Ivan
You can just create an additional profile (thunderbird -P), and configure a single mail account. This should be easy and quick.
I have the same issue. I just did a fresh install of firetray. No other add-ons. I'm trying to reproduce it, but it just seems to get stuck at 1. I can reset it by disabling and enabling the icon.
Linux Mint 17 - TB 1:31.3.0
+1 Ubuntu x64 14.04 TB 31.3.0
The same here:
- Linux Mint 17.1
- Thunderbird 31.7.0
- FireTray 0.5.6.1
Linux Mint 17.2 Thunderbird 31.7.0 FireTray 0.5.6.1
The icon in tray always shows the number of unread message as 1 instead of 0. If I get more than 1 real new message the icon shows it properly. But after I've read all new messages the icon stuck again at number 1.
