Redesign logo
The old logo is great but its age is apparent on it:
We also do not have a vector source, which makes handling it a pain.
It would be nice if we found a designer that could come up with something great like https://github.com/j0k3r/graby/pull/214
It is very cute. Though, I find the spatial arrangement of the papers in a 2D box a little jarring. But I can’t imagine making the box 3D or the papers flat that would not look worse.
Could you also check how does it look like on a dark backgroung? I use https://github.com/StylishThemes/GitHub-Dark and the white background of the current image is little jarring.
Hmm, maybe the front top view could work with slight perspective:
But maybe we should not feel constrained by the original design. I am actually not even sure what the original copyright status was and if derivative works are permitted. Maybe we could use the fact that selfoss was named after an amazing waterfall and the metaphor of articles, tweets, YouTube videos, etc. as streams of water, using spouts to get them.
Hmm, apparently, the original logo is licensed under a No-Derivative variant of Creative Commons license, not sure if the proposed counts as a derivation.

Please, let me know if you all agreed with some logo version, so I can send it to your project.

However, we are still not sure whether the original logo license permits us to create derivates. I contacted the author of the logo to clarify this.
