unable to get past step 3 on install

Hi, I have tried the latest version, as well as the previous 2 versions and no matter what I do, I can't get past step 3 of the install. once I get to that point, and click next it doesn't do anything, so I click next again, and it says that the database tables already exist. however when I pull up phpmyadmin, the database is empty, has no tables in it. How can I get resolve this step so I can install form tools.

Use php 7. That’s what worked for me. 8 does not work.

Confirmed. 8 did not work. 7.4.33 did work.

I too have an issue with v8 (gets stuck on Step 3).

Step that install back to 7 and it will work.

Hey folks, sorry I haven't been around to support this project, I know it's a pain.

I haven't been able to see a problem on my own setup. Would someone mind going to Modules -> System Check -> Env info and paste the content of the textarea here? (It's not sensitive info). Sounds like it's DB-related.

Thank you for your reply, I tried to install Formtools last night and also came across this same problem. It seems that the database tables get created, but it just sits on the same step 3 screen with the "Create Database Tables" button at the bottom. I would very much like to provide you with the info you have requested, but am unsure of how to do this if the installation will not complete? Or perhaps I'm not understanding something?
