feat: choose default layout mode (tabbed, stacked, tiled)

Open rawkode opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

(1) Description

My preference is for tabbed tiling everything, is there a way to enable this tiling mode by default?

I searched through the config and looked at dconf-editor, but couldn't find a way to enable this by default.

(2) Alternatives I've considered

Pressing my keybind everytime I log into GNOME

(3) Design / Screenshots / Mockups

No response

Hi there, there is none at the moment. My use case these days are just coding on laptop monitor with 6 fixed workspaces. and I felt the need to have it tabbed by default. Choosing between the supported layouts (tabbed, stacked, tiled) would be interesting to see.

I’ve been liking having it tabbed by default after one split, effectively keeping the screen at this layout:
