Not sure if this issue is referencing the same thing, but I am also having an issue with Firefox PiP. There is a problem where there is no difference between a Firefox PiP window and a normal Firefox window so if you set the PiP window to always float, all Firefox windows will also be set to always float. It does work in most other browsers. Out of curiosity, is this true for you too or does it work for you @jmmaranan ?

@gunwald I did kinda realize afterwards that if you install the pip extension that fixes firefox pip not being always on top, then you can just always toggle the pip window to float rather than trying to make an always float rule for it. Idk that might be a bit obvious & it's a bit annoying having to set the pip window to float each time you open it, but it at least functions how I would want it to.

This is working for me in Debian testing with Gnome 47, but it isn't working for me in Debian 12 and Gnome 43. In both cases, I'm running the latest version of Firefox (not ESR). Interestingly, in my issue #285 from last year, I mentioned that it was working for me in Gnome 12 using Firefox ESR, so this appears to be a regression for Debian 12.
