Still Looking for a New Maintainer
Hi there,
Happy New Year! Hoping for a new maintainer!
As most of you may have seen, I had put in the announcement for a new maintainer. That hasn't changed - adding this ticket for visibility. I also talked to Javad (JustPerfection) about the transition plan. ~~So far, I have not see any offers.~~
~~I will wrap the repo up by the end of the month (instead of end of 2023). The last few changes up to (https://github.com/forge-ext/forge/commit/4c4b913c7ff3443f70fd08a6e340c891c3dba358) will still be published on EGO.~~

Happy New Year to you too!
I've been considering this, sent you a message in Matrix to talk about some details. You can also write me on Twitter if you'd like @eruizc_dev.
Let me know as well, I enjoy this too much to have it die.
I consider myself capable of maintaining this and would definitely help out, but I know nothing about developing GNOME extensions and would need some help understanding everything. If someone wants to give me a masterclass, contact me on Twitter (a.k.a. X).
I speak both English and Spanish fluently, feel free to write to me in whichever you feel most comfortable. Cheers!
maybe @bennypowers or @moritz-t-w are interested in becoming members/maintainers so this project can at least continue to have pull requests merged without it all being on just you? Sorry for volunteering others, just looked at the top contributors.
i can't commit to shouldering the responsibility for the repo, but i'm certainly willing to review prs every so often
I don't have time lol
Hi there I decided to keep the repository running and I think maintenance can go in several ways:
- Someone might fork this, or use their fork and publish to their own account in extensions gnome to org
- As @bennypowers commented, some folks can review PRs and help test the changes. I can still publish to EGO once it is approved.
- For those newer to gnome extensions development, you can start reading and doing smaller extensions as an exercise: https://gjs.guide/extensions/. Unfortunately, some extensions development experience is needed on becoming a maintainer.
- I had invited some of the existing contributors. Please be nice to them and I hope they accept the invite.
Is there a place that we can donate to you and / or other maintainers for keeping this alive? I for one would be happy to part with some scratch to show the love.
