@joshpuetz looking back at this, does #18223 look like it would tackle this situation?
It may or may not already be solved, because I do believe we have tracking in some senses (how the API is being used), but we may not have a more fine-grained way to determine and analyze who/how is using it.
That PR can be considered a PoC, which also uses a FeatureFlag to toggle ON/OFF if needed (i.e. we see that Datadog is getting "too heavily spammed by this"), so totally okay to simply close it out if it doesn't look right 🙂
