Global DEV Meet-Up / Hackathon Day

As I mentioned in the comment on this post on dev.to. I would like a Global DEV Meet-Up / Hackathon Day. where local organizers set up a local event all on the same day. Anyone got any ideas on how this could be organized? and Will the DEV team support this effort? @benhalpern?
