Web Extension that adds "View background image" to the context menu
Installation
[!NOTE] The extension requires permission to read and change all your data on all websites for viewing background images.
[!NOTE] For Firefox users
After installation, open about:addons and enable Permissions > Access your data for all websites for the addon. Please see this issue for more details.
Usage
- Reload pages after installing the extension
- Open the context menu on the images
- Select "View Background Image"
- The images will appear in a new tab

- Closed Shadow DOM (e.g., Embedded Tweets)
- Some inline SVGs
