Font Bakery Installation ERROR!
Hello, during the installation of Font Bakery, I received the following ERROR message:
How can I fix this so that Font Bakery can be installed? I use Latest: Python 3.13.7
It looks like some dependency is now developed in rust and pip is trying to compile it at install time.
Right now I don't have a quick answer for this. Does anybody have a clue which dependency is causing this? I may have some time to look at it in the upcoming weeks.
But everybody should strongly consider migrating to Fontspector, as FontBakery will gradually be left behind, for the history books. The future of Font QA is definitely in Fontspector.
@felipesanches Fontspector does not yet have a community best practices profile from Typenetwork. When will this be available on Fontspector? Is there also a clear guide on how to install it under Python?
It could be shaperglot, which doesn't appear to offer wheels for Python 3.13 on Windows: https://pypi.org/project/shaperglot/#files
I removed the old wheels because they were corrupted. I uploaded a new version on Friday with non-corrupt wheels.
