Could not open my PDF on the add on

Open ellricjoseph opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

HI im new to the addon and would like to commend the great effort it took to bring this idea to life, i first witness its true capabilities on a video by AnKing and was eager to try it myself. All went smoothly until i attempted to open my pdf. A window saying "could not load PDF - seems to be invalid" appears. I've tried it on multiple different documents and the same window appears, does anyone have a solution. My anki version: 2.1.35 (unable to update it since i have an old mac) Im unsure which version of SIAC is installed but i have recently check for updates at 24/06/2021 and have updated it to the date. Hm, hard to guess what could be going wrong. I did a quick test on Mac on 2.1.35 and it seemed to work. Anything suspicious in the terminal if you run Anki from it and try to open a PDF?

Hello, i tried to install the v_1.20 (Link: https://github.com/fonol/anki-search-inside-add-card/releases/tag/1.20 ) using this method: Download the files from GitHub and put them in a folder in the addon folder (addon21 if you're using Anki 2.1) To open the addon folder go to Tools->Manage Add-ons->view files. Restart Anki.

It did not work and it only showed this upon start-up. How do you solve or fix this?

My macbook is old too. (MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 )

Sorry, I just saw that this problem occurred in 2.135, which may also be related to iCloud, such as placing files on iCloud.

Personal experience.
