Show play button overlay on image link

Would it be possible to have a youtube play button overlayed on the image that is linked when you use the no embed option? We are using this plugin to add YouTube links to emails and a consistent complaint recently has been that people don't know that the image is a video, of which a solution was to simply add a play button over the thumbnail to get people to click on it.
