Rubocop wrapper using wrong rubocop version when Vscode installed

When symlinked for Vscode, the version of rubocop used is older (1.4.1) than the one installed 1.12.0

rubocop -v
1.4.1

How to make it work with current rubocop is my issue? I am using Ruby 3.0.0
