dash-uploader is archived
Two years ago I was looking for new maintainers (#122). There was slight interest, but the project did not get the amount of contributing workforce we could produce new releases.
This project was a fun experiment for me. However:
- It is not anymore relevant for me
- The JavaScript part of it is not close to my heart. At least as of today.
- I want to be able to answer questions on projects I maintain, but on this one I'm as much in trouble as anyone else with the code.
State of the project
- The last published version using resumable.js is 0.6.1 in PyPI.
- There's the 0.7.0a2 available with the
--preflag which uses flow.js.
Is this the end of dash-uploader?
Maybe. But it does not have to be.
Route 1: There is https://github.com/plotly/dash/issues/3037 which is a suggestion to merge dash-uploader to dash core components.
Route 2: I still have the keys for making published versions in PyPI. I could handle the rights to someone once there is enough trust built either with other python projects the person/org is making or otherwise. I could also be helping with the possible future with very light contribution. This project could be moved under an org like ("dash-uploader/dash-uploader"), for example.
After archiving this probably becomes read-only. The ways you can contact me:
- email: [email protected]
- Tagging me in the https://github.com/plotly/dash/issues/3037 (if that's a relevant place for the conversation)
