Need a changelog

Maybe something like: https://github.com/skywinder/github-changelog-generator

will probably require some organizing of issue labels.

also would be great to be able to write some custom message for each new release. ie "In this release we focused on ... blah blah"

Note: should probably just do this on major/minor releases.

That tool looks good though, can hook that into Circle.

Before we can think about producing a changelog for a release we need official releases. It would be great if we could produce weekly stable builds that we recommend for users followed by official releases on a regular schedule. Each time we do a hands on lab it's Russian roulette as to whether all the components in a daily build are working and able to communicate.

yea we need a release cadence and can make a changelog from that. auto-gen changelogs kind of suck. not gonna start the 'release manager' finger pointing...

every 6 months? ;)

at this point i'm not sure it's worth tagging and doing rigorous testing to make 'known good' builds on a weekly basis, that's a full time job. it seems like we should wait for dust to settle and API to lock in on a v1 before we make any 'official' releases (even if beta) at all. we could maybe make one now just to carve out but as far as establishing regular cycle it doesn't seem like we're 'there' yet.

Ya. Don't disagree with you guys. But we need to aim to be "there" in the next 1-2 months... at which point this will be important. Happy to hold off but want to at least identify the system soon.
