Manually trigger launching

Open ioull opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

As an enhancement it could be interressant to have an option to launch a trigger for a specific container ?

My idea is to launch from the API the docker-compose update for example when I decided to update and not when it is available.

I would also love to see this feature, allowing pending updates to be triggered by a webhook or similar.

I push all my notifications into Home Assistant when updates are available so being able to also trigger the updates from there would be a great feature.

Agree with this. I did setup the docker-compose.yaml link, and initially was baffled that HA went down to update. (As 2022.6 just came out today, and was being auto-updated already). Though it being named a trigger should have tipped me off. Was hoping for an overview of available updates to be able to review, and then initiate updates (through WUD's link to docker-compose.yaml) manually. Having now configured it a bit more, I have the entities pushed into HA through MQTT, and it would be nice if they could be Update type entities that have a button to skip or install. (And somehow use the docker-compose.yaml trigger to update the file and pull the latest build)

That would be an amazing feature! being able to manually launch the docker_compose trigger for a specific container would be a game changer. From the WUD UI, or from the WUD API, or even better through MQTT command!

@JvdMaat, I have the same "dream" ! I think at this stage there are quite a few hurdles unfortunately. For now WUD cannot update a single container on demand. But also as far as I know, the "update" entity has not yet been coded to be available through MQTT...

I would also like the ability to manually execute a docker-compose 'trigger' either from the UI or as a link that can be added inthe triggered email if a compose trigger is setup. That would also likely require a new flag on docker-compose triggers to state if the execute automatically or manually.

And now it has! Per the 2022.11 HA notes: image

+1 for the ability to trigger updating a specific container in a DockerCompose, ideally through MQTT/Home Assistant
