Clarify how to download playlist files to folders (ie with `-a` and/or `-t`)?
👋
Thanks for software
Hope y'all OK!
I want to grab all files (specific to -t) AND have playlist files downloaded/organised to folders
This:
scdl -l https://soundcloud.com/leaf-dog-lord-balrog -t
... doesn't seem to organise files into playlist folders, should it?:
- If yes then there seems to be a bug (possibly dating back to ~2021
- If no then it appears users must first run:
scdl -l https://soundcloud.com/leaf-dog-lord-balrog -pand thenscdl -l https://soundcloud.com/leaf-dog-lord-balrog -c -tbut it's suboptimal and/because-cdoesn't seem to have any effect because the playlist files aren't seen as they're in folders
My expected behaviour is to (be able to) run one command to get what I want
Aside, the fact --no-playlist-folder exists got me assuming default behaviour would be playlist downloads get organised into folders by default, which isn't the case 😕
Hope this helps and for some clarification..?
🤞
Hopefully this is a bug - and albums, playlists and reposts should (sensibly) be kept organised with use of sub-folders by default - else I sense the addition of --(no-)dir or --(no-)folder (ie specifically with -a and-t and depending on default behaviour) might be required..?
Aside, --no-playlist-folder could/should then be made redundant, as we would have the (more general) utility flags above
For now the only way I can think to solve this is to run the two commands and eat the duplicate downloads and time spent manually sanitising them on the file system 😞:
scdl -l https://soundcloud.com/leaf-dog-lord-balrog -pscdl -l https://soundcloud.com/leaf-dog-lord-balrog -t
FYR it shouldn't be required of users but I can solve this issue with musicbrainz clustering; based on meta
Although, for some reason (ie when -p is used) the ID3 tags get a really bad haircut 😵💫

Happy to create a new issue if someone else can confirm their side..?
use DRmare Streaming Audio Recorder so you can bypass all those troubles haha.
