Stuck on "waiting for gps fix"

I've noticed this a few times now. Sometimes the program thinks it has lost GPS, when it hasn't.

I just started it and pressed go. It had satellites, then suddenly jumped to 0 and claims to have lost the GPS fix, yet the accuracy keeps getting better (so obviously, there is a fix). It's stuck in this until I switch to another app and back.

Recently I've used the app very often on an Android 6 and on an Android 4.3 but the bug doesn't appear for me. I think this issue can be closed.

What I could advise for now in such situation is to close the app, get a gps fix with maps or other app and the reopen speedmeter.

hi all - actually I can reproduce it 100% with my samsung s4 with lineage OS latest update from 18.05.2018 - debugging does not show anything interesting >.< opening maps and reopening speedmeter does not fix it for me

after investigation this seems to be an issue with lineageOS - tested on my new Pixel 2 the apps works great. I know that it is technically correct to call it "gpsfix", but I think it would be more useful to call it "waiting for the first GPS signal".....
