Fur Fighters freezing when loading level "VAB Building" using French language
Platform / OS / Hardware: PC / Windows 11 Family
Ryzen 7 7800X3D - 7900 XT - 32GB RAM
Flycast version: v2.5 (my 2025)
Description of the Issue I'm currently playing Fur Fighters with a CHD file. The games was working great until i had to access to the level "VAB Building" in Cape Canardo. I was able to do the VLF Facility, but i can't load this level. When entering the doors to the level, it shows the loading screen, but it never ends.

Debugging Steps Tested
- Save a state before entering the building, charging back the state and trying again.
- Closing the game and opening it again.
- Closing Flycast open it again then open the game.
- Increasing the clocking (mhz)

EDIT : If there is a way to bypass the loadings screen of the game how can i do it ?
I can't reproduce this issue: I can enter the VAB building without issue here.
Are you using a real BIOS? If not, can you try with one? Are you playing with the US/NTSC or EU/PAL edition?
I'm using a EU/PAL edition, and sorry but what is a real BIOS, i didn't looked at how the emulator works, i was too happy to find one working well
I think i found a "real BIOS" after reading the Wiki i looked to find a bios. Hte bios can be launch, i can insert disk, but i always have the problem on the game.

Can it come from the file containing the game, or did i messed up with the settings of flycast ?
We have found that this issue occurs when selecting French when selecting the language after launching the game. It occurs in both the US and PAL versions. Flycast settings have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Since this only happens in certain languages, it may be a bug in the game, but I've never heard of such a thing, so it's necessary to check it on the real hardware.
Create a cheat file for easy testing. (For US version, please replace with 021954BC)
Select French, proceed to the in-game menu screen, and press the L-trigger. The game will freeze when you select a VAB building (it will not freeze if you start in another language).
I don't know how to create a cheat file, but i've launch the game using english as the language for the game and it works, i'll see if for other levels i can have this issue again. If you can tell me how to make a cheat file i can also try loading the game like that.
The cheat is only useful for testers and developers, so that the level can be accessed easily.
I was able to reproduce the issue when using French, so I recommend you use English until a solution is found.
That's what i'll do, i'll report if other levels of the game freeze when using french language, i think i remember having issues like that with the physical game back in time
