Description of the Issue
The image is not displayed across the entire screen. It appears to be compressed and shown only on the upper half of the screen.
Debugging Steps Tested
- Launch intro in Flycast
- Observe that the image is not displayed across the entire screen

CDI disks should be avoided because many of them are incomplete or buggy. The Echelon ones use hacks all over the place and are particularly hard to emulate. I'd rather spend time on fixing original releases of the games (on GDI, CUE or CHD).

Yes, as you suspected, it's unrelated.
The provided .gdi file only contains the intro executable, no game files at all. That's why it crashes when you try to advance to the game, and honestly, that's expected. 😄
That said, the issue reported about the image only showing on the upper half of the screen is still valid and most likely has nothing to do with CDI disk emulation problems.
I looked at it and the Echelon intro uses a non-standard display configuration (and not supported according to Sega technical documentation) , combining 240p video mode with a 320x480 framebuffer. Fixable but then there's always a risk that it would break another game somewhere...
