Not entirely, crash recovery and draft autosaving is slightly different. We could think about using tmp
or some other default dir to autosave drafts like tmp/draft-{uuid}.rnote
And display a dialog when the app finds those files on startup
I think this should be rather easy to implement. You can assign me.
Please add this feature. You are so close to finally provide a One Note experience on Linux.
The usual workflow is
- Press global hotkey to open new draft
- Dump whatever you currently have that you want to keep in there, be it a screenshot or text.
- Continue with what you are working on
I don't want to have to press a save button and it needs to survive a system crash
Saving in /tmp is not a good idea as it gets wiped by the system now and then. Better is to specify a draft directory
