Respect User Cursor Icons Flatpak

Open ryleu opened this issue 2 years ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug The Flatpak release of Rnote does not respect my cursor theme. It defaults to the adwaita theme when hovering over the window, even though I have allowed access to ~/.icons/. Other Flatpak apps, like IntelliJ IDEA, LibreOffice, Handbrake, and others, so I don't believe this is purely Flatpak's fault.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download Fedora 36 (I believe this was also the case on Fedora 35, and it might be the case on GNOME 40+ in general)
  2. Install another cursor theme (I use phinger cursors) to ~/.icons/ and enable it with Tweaks
  3. Install Rnote from Flatpak
  4. Open Rnote and observe the cursor theme used (especially when not hovering over the drawing area)
  5. Close Rnote
  6. Add a read-only filesystem override for ~/.icons/: flatpak override --user --filesystem=~/.icons/:ro
  7. Open Rnote and observe the cursor theme used (especially when not hovering over the drawing area)

Expected behavior It should use the cursor theme I set, both in step 4 and in step 7. At minimum, it should use the cursor theme after step 6, where I explicitly allow access to the correct directory for all Flatpak apps.
