Rnote does not recognize the second stylus button

Open Mimrix opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

When writing in Rnote, both buttons have the exact same function, despite them being assigned different functions in the settings.

Each button should act independently of the other.

  • OS: Windows 11 23H2, Microsoft Surface 5
  • App Version: [e.g. Rnote v0.12.0]
  • Installation Source: Installer
  • Input Source: Third-party pen https://allegro.cz/produkt/dotykove-pero-microsoft-surface-pen-4096-cerny-e844d002-7a77-4dfe-9e5e-bcc14241b716?offerId=9473094991

I tried to edit the stylus settings further, but nothing has changed. The secondary action is an eraser, even tho I changed all the shortcuts to other tools. There is no eraser shortcut left in the settings, and yet it's all I have...

Is the second button seen as an eraser by any other app on windows? (journal, onenote, nebo, xournal).

If so there's very little that can be done (because this means the second button is mapped to the eraser, so the "second button shortcut" won't apply to that button as what is received is "I am an eraser" when you're pressing the second button).

The eraser is given a separate tool from the pen, but this mapping is not shown yet (that'll probably change once I get back to #1119 . The original issue is #1104 ).

In the meantime, if you keep the second button pressed then change the tool, it will change the eraser mapping
