Discussion: is flutter_launcher_icons maintained?
Discussion: is flutter_launcher_icons maintained?
This issue has been made to discuss the maintenance status of flutter_launcher_icons (github)
Summary
the last interaction from any maintainer was last August so the question is this package still alive and supported? seems to me quite reasonable
cc @MarkOSullivan94
Can a Flutter Community organization member weigh in on this (looks like the issue template automatically assigned @jeroen-meijer)? The maintainer @MarkOSullivan94 is still AWOL from the repo, though he's still active on Github. Meanwhile PRs and issues are building up. This large PR for desktop and web support is particularly relevant with Flutter support for Windows recently hitting stable.
Hi all,
Sorry for not getting back to this earlier. We went through some restructuring and have reassigned people handling these types of cases since then.
I'd love to help out any way I can.
First off let me tag @mhadaily since he runs GH ops for FC these days. If you need anything from me please let me know! :)
@jeroen-meijer cc @mhadaily the problem is that flutter_launcher_icons is apparently not being maintained I noticed this stubling across this issue in production, but the problem is widespread
I have nothing personal against @MarkOSullivan94, but if he is too busy at work maybe someone else should step up and maintain the repository
Any updates on this?
I have reached out to @MarkOSullivan94 let's hope I can get an answer and get back to you soon. If we get to answer by next week, I will merge some of the PRs myself until we find an active maintainer.
thanks for being patient
Any updates here?
I'm eager for someone from the community to take over maintenance of flutter_launcher_icons
, it would be great if multiple people got involved.
I've opened an issue on the repo trying to seek a maintainer to take over maintenance of flutter_launcher_icons
https://github.com/fluttercommunity/flutter_launcher_icons/issues/363
I guess at this point we are better off using icons_launcher
like wonderous did (see pubspec)
