Unable to click on Index if indexBarItemHeight is high

I have a list of index items upto 35 unique letters.

When i remove the indexBarItemHeight , I unable to click on the last few letters. Attached screenshot for reference.

If I decrease the indexBarItemHeight letters are not visible.

This is the major issue on small screen size devices.

Please suggest.
