If I understand correctly you're trying to launch the ball before hitting the play button?

Firstly, I tapped the play and that popped the character selection menu at that point play button should be disappeared but sometimes play button never disappearing and causing the problem in launching the rocket and while hitting play button again it again showing the character selection menu loop and blocking the rocket.

This problem occurring only sometimes .
