Password Characters Incorrectly Saved

Open ghost opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

This app is awful!

It saves password characters "&" and "%" as "%26" and "%25" respectively.

Firefox 38.0 and Password Exporter 1.3.1.1-signed.

Horrible, thank God I checked.

Just ran into this myself, while not totally unusable, it is certainly a surprise when it happens.

To me, this is completely unacceptable.

It exports passwords right?

Only it doesn't...

I do my own now using Vim and GnuPG.

This is still happening in the latest version, makes the addon not only useless but downright dangerous (if you were to trust it to move your passwords from one machine to another)

It also percent escapes < > and probably other special characters as well. Stay away until it is fixed.

I can confirm the bug in 1.2 where add-on couldn't export a password properly where one of fields contained characters outside of ANSI table. In my example the password field was "hasło" (not L) and after export/import it became "hasBo". I can't confirm if this bug is still there. That entry has been deleted.
