trying to remove "FPS" and "ms" so i only see the actual fps value and nothing else

if fps_only doesnt fit your use case, try this in your conf:

#fps_only
fps
frametime=0
hide_fps_superscript

took me about 2 months to figure this out cause I had an outdated goverlay I was using to verify my conf.
