Is it possible to compile solr ontology update processor in Java 7

I want to integrate your plugins into my system. The reason is to run it in Java 7. Could you confirm me if it could be compiled in Java 7?

The plugin has been written using some of the new functions in Java 8, including lambda functions and expressions, so it would require some re-writing to compile in Java 7.

Solr 4 will run happily with Java 8 - is it possible for you to upgrade to Java 8?
