I can reproduce the bug. It should actually pass the channel id, not the channel name.

The solution is clicking one of the suggestions that popup. Since in the new API channel names are not unique, we'll have to create a new view with channel results....

I made changes in 2.8 that prevent the menu to be toggled if other keys beside ALT are pressed. Let me know if you still have issues.
