[Cawbird] 'Failed to commit changes to dconf' on attempts to change several settings

When I attempt to change some settings in Cawbird, the change I make reverts automatically. Running Cawbird from a terminal gives more details why the settings change failed, thus: (cawbird:3): dconf-WARNING **: xx:xx:xx.xxx: failed to commit changes to dconf: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown where xx:xx:xx.xxx happens to be the time of day when the warning was thrown.

I've already notified the Cawbird developers about this, and they said the error is not with Cawbird nor with dconf, and told me to file the issue over here.

Is there anything you can tell me about this weird behavior?

I'm running Cawbird version 1.3.2 via its Flatpak on Gentoo.
