handle the failure of memory allocation

I need to handle the failure of memory allocation or disk space allocation.

can't allocate 80002154496 bytes for /SAFS/matE7rTOa0v/0, error: No space left on device

 *** caught segfault ***
address 0x18, cause 'memory not mapped'
