Can you confirm if you restart flameshot after attaching the external monitor the issue is resolved?
@borgmanJeremy I can confirm that this is an issue even on multi-monitor desktop and with our AUR on KDE Plasma.
For me the gui only appears on the primary monitor
I experience the same issue. The GUI appears on the second monitor only.
@borgmanJeremy Yes, it still is a problem - I had the problem you are describing with Flameshot not working on a monitor that has been connected since starting the program, and yes in that case restarting it would help.
But this here seems like something else, Flameshot opens up on my primary monitor with the vision of the secondary one. And i cannot get screenshots from my primary monitor.
I see 2 more people are having same issues, good to know i am not alone in this.
In my case it is opening on the second monitor with the correct image and all, but no restarting helps to open it on the primary monitor.
PR #4045 should fix this, but not ready for merging yet. Feel free to test on more than just KDE wayland and leave feedback on the PR.
Actually I am experiencing the lowered quality of the preview as well. The capture itself once saved is fine, but the preview is grany.
Also, I am on Gnome 48 + wayland.
Also Ctrl+C does not copy. (sorry for the spam)
More info about the lowered quality. I am not sure it is Flameshot-related. In Nautilus, when opening Properties for a file or directory, the window at the back is darkened with some overlay. The bigger the window behind, the worse the quality is when darkened, and that happens only on my second monitor which has 150% zoom and is not the best quality. It does not happen on the main monitor.
Hello, I have the same issue with Gnome on Wayland. Also seems like ctrl+c no longer copies to the image clipboard, it used to work just fine 😔.
@natalie-o-perret The ctrl + c has been already reported and seems to be an upstream KGuiAddons Issue: https://github.com/flameshot-org/flameshot/issues/4116#issuecomment-3172263040

I use flameshot 12.1.0 in archlinux gnome wayland. newer release is not working.
It looks like this issue describes my problem, too.
My set-up is as follows:
- Windows 11 with two monitors connected through a docking station, using one miniDP and one HDMI
- my primary monitor is to the right of the setup
- setup of the monitors is [ 2 ] [ 1 ], with one being the primary and showing the Windows taskbar
When screenshotting with flameshot 13.3.0 (Qt 6.9.2) the content of the primary screen is moved to the secondary screen and the primary monitor turning black. I can then only screenshot the content of the primary screen.
As per searching the net including consulting ChatGPT, when changing the setup from [ 2 ] [ 1 ] to [ 1 ] [ 2 ] the issue would be solved. Changing back the problem reappears.
Moving the primary monitor from the right to the left monitor it will work as expected, but this is incompatible with my workflow.
