What needs to happen for this to replace https://search.nixos.org/flakes?
Maybe we should ping the static registry owners to push flakes into it.

The registry feature of Flakes is more like DNS than an artifact registry. For instance, it doesn't pin anything, whereas flakestry does pin the versions and/or tarballs.
Nonetheless it would be interesting to export to a repository; just not that one.
No I'm pretty sure https://search.nixos.org/flakes is meant, the flakes of which are tracked in a completely separate and manual way: https://github.com/NixOS/nixos-search/blob/main/flakes/manual.toml
