UI gets laggy after the chat window is open a while

Not sure if it's a memory leak or it's just loading all the chat history (which really shouldn't take all that long)...

I experience this as well, regularly. If you're in a very active channel and don't have that channel active for a long while, then clicking on that channel causes huge lag until everything loads in. For example: Join #node.js on freenode, then another channel. Have CIRC be in the other channel for 1-2 days, then try clicking the #node.js channel-- it will take 5-10 seconds to load the chat window.

I came from the app page to the website to github just to comment about this. I frequent a news channel that has constant posts from bots and due to this issue it isn't comfortable to use for long. Plus when the backlog builds up it seems to lag everything else out, and if I neglect it long enough CIRC basically stops responding and I have to kill it manually. Until a change is made I'll be using irssi on a VPS via shell..
