xnomad from tmux ignores the terminal window

This might be a tmux problem instead of an xnomad problem (because of pbcopy/pbpaste, etc.) but if you launch xnomad from a tmux buffer, the parent window, whether iTerm or Terminal, is ignored from xnomad's layouting. I am using reattach-to-user-namespace.
