Normally I'd say yes to this, but older units I believe use this method still.

I'll have to look into that, it'll need a new function and configuration variable and such.

This was addressed in #472

Need some way to mock the websocket for tests to output the `status.json` fixtures.

The only control available is the LED brightness, I am not sure if this will control an LCD brightness.

Are you still seeing these messages in the log?

I want to say this was for firmware before 4.x+
