Extracting Data from Smokeview

Open A-Temple opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Hello,

It would be great if time-history data could be extracted from smokeview when viewing it, e.g. temperatures at a point from a slice file. Smokeview is already reading in and processing the data so some of the work is already being done, and while devices are still superior where you know you need data due to the reduced file size, I am sure a large number of people would find this option useful.

I am also sure this has been suggested before, that there is probably a reason it hasn't been implemented yet and as it is simply a "quality of life" suggestion I wouldn't rush it to the front of the queue. But I thought I would raise it anyway.

Cheers Alastair

Ill take a look.

Look at fds2ascii. You may be able to get the data you want with it

This is a new capability in PyroSim Results Viewer as of the 2020.2 release. https://support.thunderheadeng.com/docs/pyrosim/2020-2/results-user-manual/#_exporting_data
