Files's thumbnails in a folder sync with OneDrive disappear

If you sync you Document on OneDrive, thumbnails are generated once, but then disappear as soon as you live the folder. This happens even if you enable "keep on device" settings.

As marked by tags, this issue is something I can't address, so won't be fixed. Unless someone provides more technical details...
