ty sherwood!
we kind of ran out of runway a bit, but following discussions with the climatetrace leadership one area FINOS could help is bringing together ontologies for physical assets. So how can we generate a SEDOL (for example) for a coal power station, a flare for oil and gas, a ship etc etc. These physical assets then need to link to beneficial owners and into the corporate issuer hierarchy that's critical for most ESG integrations for investment managers.
@ffionwiggins @jgavronsky reach out if you want to explore. I'm working on research proposals with climate-trace, they're an open data set so are happy to engage and drive the discussion, they understand their IP is really only unlocked when physical assets can be mapped to the economic beneficiaries and up to the ultimate parent corp (private or public).
