[DOCS] Discuss approach to making Theme Builder resources easier to find

Open PaulaPaul opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Problem/Concern

There are multiple resources available to potential contributors who are interested in learning more about Theme Builder. This issue is a placeholder for a discussion and comments about making those resources easier to find, especially for those who are not familiar with FINOS or Open Source. For example, many of the projects in the OpenJS Foundation have their own landing pages or websites in addition to, and linking to, materials in the Foundation and GitHub.

  • What is the contributor experience and journey for a new designer or developer to join the Theme Builder community and begin to contribute? For those who are new to Open Source, how can we make this process easier?

This issue is a placeholder for comments (below) and for discussion on the community call. Once consensus is reached, this issue can be closed and specific issues can be created to track the desired outcomes.

Considerations:

  • Is it worth purchasing the domain 'ally-theme-builder' (.org or other) and having a landing page or redirecting that URL to the https://a11y-theme-builder.finos.org/?
  • From a landing page, or from the FINOS site above, what is the best way to allow interested parties to find the following resources?

** https://github.com/finos/a11y-theme-builder/wiki ** https://try.a11y-theme-builder.finos.org/ ** https://a11y-theme-builder.finos.org/

Proposed Solution

  • To be determined
