Nominations Open for InnerSource SIG Co-Lead
The InnerSource SIG has an empty co-chair role that we're looking to recruit. We're looking for nominations in this issue as GitHub comments, so lets get the flow of candidates going! 😸
Would firstly like to thank the prior co-chair Elspeth M for all the support she gave me for the licensing initiative and this SIG.
I would like register my interest to volunteer for the role of co-chair. Not sure how this process works exactly but here are a brief set of things I would like to drive as a co-chair:
I think there is a lot more sharing that can happen for InnerSource between Financial institutions to help encourage the adoption of Inner Source in Financial institutions
- Would encourage more sharing and cataloging of guidelines, case studies, policies, tooling and patterns (in collaboration with InnerSource commons to optimise reuse)
- Would continue to work on the licenses which I believe will greatly reduce the friction and accelerate the adoption of inner source in Financial institutions
- Would introduce an InnerSource project award category for the FinOS awards bring awareness and recognise great Inner Source work happening in the Financial domain
- Would introduce an InnerSource kickstarter page for new Financial institutions interested in adopting inner source
- Would introduce an InnerSource -> Open Source conversion process to address all checks and balances for Financial institutions to take their InnerSource projects to Open Source fully or partially (e.g contribute back)
- Would ensure close collaboration with FiOS OSR SIG, OSPO roundtable and Inner Source commons by participation
Background/Skills:
- Have lead multiple Open Source projects in the past as a lead architect, developer and community lead
- Have been involved as an Apache Committer and am aware of the "Apache Way"
- Presently running two InnerSource projects at a leading financial institution
- Leading the licensing WG of the FinOS InnerSource SIG that happens bi-weekly
- I am quite comfortable with the dev process around GIT Ref: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chamindra/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQz12Rwzzbk
Great submission @chamindra !
@mcleo-d to help the process, could you also please include a link to the SIG Leadership role description? Be great for the record! :) Thanks.
I would like to nominate myself for this role.
If the window for nominations is still open, then I would like to throw my hat in the ring.
Hey @capimig - Thanks for putting yourself forward. It would be great if you could identify yourself as I'm unable to see your details through your GitHub profile.
Many thanks,
James.
