1. What is your project and what problem does it solve? (max 100 words)
AICitySim is a simulation-as-a-service engine for market testing products in virtual societies of AI agents. This MVP introduces decentralized storage of simulation logs using Filecoin/IPFS, allowing simulations to be audited, shared, or preserved transparently and ethically. The prototype demonstrates consent-gated access to logs and prepares the foundation for future simulation trace storage, token-gated research access, and a marketplace of ethical synthetic datasets.

2. How is Filecoin used in this project?
Simulation logs are uploaded to Filecoin/IPFS via CLI or API, enabling decentralized preservation. We will simulate basic programmable access conditions (e.g. unlocking logs only when consent is met) as groundwork for eventual smart contract-controlled log access via the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM).
This expands on-chain Filecoin use by:
- Logging trace data for simulated societies
- Designing consent-aware access to stored data
- Enabling token-based research access in later phases
The project uses web3.storage or similar for early testing, but is structured to evolve toward full programmable FVM access control.
3. How will you improve your project with this grant? What steps will you take to meet this objective?
| Number | Grant Deliverable | Briefly describe how you will meet deliverable objectives | Timeframe (within 3 months) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. | Upload logs to Filecoin/IPFS | Batch logging from a 100-agent test sim ("Hamlet-1") via Python script | Week 1–2 |
| 2. | Consent-based access model | Simulate conditions where logs are shared only if avatars grant consent | Week 2–4 |
| 3. | Mini Flask-based demo tool | Open source front-end for uploading/flagging logs and managing access | Week 3–5 |
| 4. | Public GitHub repo with docs & diagram | Includes dummy log, README, Mermaid diagram, and smart contract placeholder | Week 1–6 |
4. What is the total amount of this grant request?
$8,500 USD
5. Adoption, Reach, and Growth Strategies
Target Audience:
- Researchers using synthetic data
- Developers building market-test simulations
- Founders testing products in private simulations
- Grant funders and decentralized AI tool builders
Growth Plan:
- First users will be research teams from past simulations
- AICitySim Alpha Testers (starting Q3 2025) will provide feedback
- Open-source community engagement begins with this MVP repo
- Future stages unlock integrations, token-gated access, and real simulation scaling
6. If accepted, do you agree to share monthly project updates in this Github Issue until the project described here is complete?
Yes
7. Does your proposal comply with our Community Code of Conduct?
8. Links and submissions
This project did not originate from a hackathon. However, it is part of a larger body of work currently under accelerator review (Outlier Ventures and Denarii Labs) and intended to become part of a broader platform (AICitySim).

👋 Hi Filecoin team,
Thanks for reviewing our AICitySim: Simulation-as-a-Service Storage MVP proposal! A quick note to highlight:
I'm a FIL Orbit ambassador and was part of the FVM F1 early-builders cohort (LEGACY).
This MVP focuses on storing simulation logs from our Hamlet-1 test (<>100 virtual agents), laying the foundation for programmable access, consent-based data flows, and eventually, token-gated research and ethical synthetic datasets.
GitHub repo is live here: [aisuperagency/AICitySim-Storage-MVP](https://github.com/aisuperagency/AICitySim-Storage-MVP)
We’re especially excited about this direction, which builds on earlier Filecoin concepts we’ve explored (e.g. the Private LLM Pods MVP) and now applies those lessons to simulation-based data and decentralized social modeling.
Happy to provide more context or discuss future roadmap integrations with FVM or compute-over-data partners.
Thanks again, Sea @motherdomains | [email protected]
Hi team – just a quick heads up that the linked AICitySim-Storage-MVP repository (under the new @aisuperagency account) may currently show a 404 error. GitHub temporarily flagged the new account for review (likely due to its AI-oriented name), and we’ve completed the required steps for manual verification. We expect access to be restored shortly. If needed, we’re happy to migrate the repo to the @motherdomains account or provide a ZIP backup.
Thanks again for your understanding!
The @aisuperagency access issues are now resolved — GitHub has lifted the temporary restrictions after confirming we’re indeed human :)
We've been busy building! Our microsite for AICitySim is up at https://aicitysim.city/ < with a cinematic trailer we created in-house
Hi @motherdomains, thanks for your patience with our review! We will not be proceeding with a grant for your project at this time. In case you would like to stay in touch with our team, I've sent a follow up email with additional details.
Thank you again for your interest in this program.
Thanks for the update, we're working hard. Enjoy your summer.
